Introducing Our Director of Human Resources– Emily Boyd
CK Family Services is excited to welcome Emily Boyd as the new Director of Human Resources (H.R.). Born in Arlington but raised in Mississippi, she’s excited to be back in town and to partner with her team to streamline H.R. as CK Family Services navigates this growth season.
While she is new to the nonprofit sector, she has nearly a decade worth of experience working in Human Resources and education. Prior to moving back to Texas in 2013, she was a third grade teacher in Mississippi. In Texas, she landed an opportunity to work in H.R. and helped scale up the workforce of a rapidly growing construction company. Despite all her success there, she was ready to be closer to home and “get back to doing work that made a difference,” Emily said.
In her free time, Emily enjoys traveling with her husband and experiencing the outdoors. Their bucket list goal is to visit all 50 states by 50 and so far they’ve got 13 down! Her two favorite states thus far are underrated, and maybe even unexpected, picks – Idaho and South Carolina.
“Idaho is beautiful. I loved its nature and landscapes. It was so energizing to be outdoors,” Emily said.
While she plans her next countryside adventure, Emily is delighted to, “be here and be part of an incredible organization.”
