Foster Parent Annual Training Requirements
CK Foster Families
CK Foster Parents who are licensed to provide foster care services are required to participate in at least 30 hours of training annually. At least 20 of those hours must be from in person, face-to-face training events. This means that you can obtain up 10 hours of non-face-to-face training that could potentially count toward meeting your 30 hour requirement.
Please keep in mind that this is a requirement for each parent in a home. Each parent, not the home, must complete the 30 hours. The only exception to this is when a parent is licensed during the course of a year and we prorate the first years requirement. If you have any questions about this, please reach out to your CK Case Manager for clarification.
CK Adoption and Foster Families
If you plan to attend any CK Family Services training classes, please ensure that you reserve your space by contacting your Case Manager or calling the office that is hosting the training. In order for us to have better communication with attendees, it is important that we know who is attending each class in the event that a class must be cancelled.
